Cowfold and Partridge Green Surgeries are dispensing practices. The majority of our patients can collect their medication at the surgery. If you live within a mile of a Chemist the law states you must be a non dispensing patient and you will have to take your prescription to the Chemist or the surgery will send your prescription to a designated Pharrmacy.Repeat Prescriptions are issued on a 28 day basis. This enables us to monitor correct medication usage and also helps to prevent wastage. If your doctor agrees to you having repeat prescriptions they can now be requested on-line using the link above, in person or by a note, or the side slip of your precsription. We also have a post box in the entrance to both surgeries where repeat prescriptions may be left.
Remember that there is usually a prescription charge for each item of medication. From April 2018 this will be £9.00 per item. If you have more than 1 item per month it is cheaper to purchase a pre-payment certificate for either 3 months (£29.10) or 12 months (£104.00). Evidence of Pre-payment Certificate or Exemption will be required when collecting your medication. Ask at the dispensary for more information. NHS West Sussex Prescribing Policy letter

Urgent Prescription Policy
Due to an increasing number of requests for repeat prescriptions to be issued urgently, we have to review how we handle these requests in order to provide safe and consistent service to all our patients. Requests for prescriptions outside the normal prescription protocol impacts significantly on both doctor and administrator staff time.
If you ask for an urgent repeat prescription. you will need to give the reason for your request.
The majority of repeat prescriptions are non-urgent and will be processed through the normal prescription process. Please make sure that you request any medication before you run out, prescriptions take up to five working days to process.
You can request your authorised repeat medication:
-On-line, anytime day and night. (Contact reception if you need your login details.)
-By post or dropping the request anytime in our post box.
URGENT REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUEST FORM
If you have seen a hospital clinician who has requested a medication to be prescribed by your GP this will be carried out through the normal prescription process (up to five working days.)
We will not issue urgent prescriptions for items that can be bought over the counter.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you request any medication seven days before you run out.
It will be down to the GP's discretion as to whether the request is urgent or not.
